Within two years of notification of acceptance to sit for an exam, an applicant who wishes to retake the exam due to cancellation or failure must notify the BLS in writing (an email is sufficient). Applicants may only retake the exam once in this two-year period. There is a $100.00 fee to retake the exam. Written notification must be received within this two-year period (an email is sufficient).
An applicant who was originally accepted more than two years previously must follow the new applicant procedures, including payment of new application and exam fees. If a candidate does not retake the exam during their 2-year window, they forfeit any retake fees they have paid.
If a candidate fails their retake exam, they must wait until their 2-year window closes before they may re-apply as a new candidate to open another 2-year window.
