Becoming an LSO and CMLSO
How did you become the LSO? Lifeline Medical, Inc. highly recommends that all laser assistants take the certification exam to become a CMLSO.
Do you like being the LSO? I enjoy being a CMLSO; it requires me to stay current with safety protocols.
What are the challenges of “today’s” LSO?
One of the major challenges of being a CMLSO is keeping up with new safety protocols and ensuring that our facilities are aware and compliant with ALL of the laser safety rules and regulations. Since we are in many facilities, this can be a daunting job.
How has becoming certified helped/benefited you in your career?
Being certified has allowed me to have the knowledge to answer questions confidently that are asked of me by our customers and my fellow employees, as well as adding value to the relationship I have with our customers by helping them with their laser safety programs and issues.
