Attendance at Professional Meetings and Conferences (Category 7), is worth a point maximum of 4 CM points.

The following are BLS approved events that an LSO can attend to gain one (1) Certification Maintenance point per full day (6+ hours) of attendance:

  • International Congress on the Applications of Lasers and Electro-Optics (ICALEO 2020 Information)
  • International Laser Safety Conference (ILSC)
  • Laser Additive Manufacturing Workshop (LAM)
  • OSA Laser Congress
  • Symposium for Cosmetic Advances & Laser Education (SCALE 2020 Information)
  • Sciton Laser Fundamentals
  • Sciton User Summits
The following events may be worth CM points based on each laser safety or laser application related session (see the time-specific point breakdown below).

Please fill out a Conference Verification Worksheet identifying laser-related sessions attended. CM Points are determined based on length of laser safety and laser application sessions attended.

  • Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Annual Meeting

Point Breakdown:
< 2 hours = ¼ CM point
2 hours to 4 hours = ½ CM point
4 hours to 6 hours = ¾ CM point
> 6 hours to 1 day = 1 CM point

Due to health concerns, the spring CLSO/CMLSO exam is being cancelled and the 2020 DOE workshop has been postponed. The fall exam will be held be held prior to the 2020 DOE workshop on August 17th, 2020. Our office team is working remotely and ready to assist you during our regular business hours!
