Executive Director's MessageOne of the BLS's main goals this year is to enhance the benefits of being a CLSO or CMLSO. We will accomplish this goal by adding a couple of new networking tools which include the new Laser Safety Forum on our website, and by this, our very first e-newsletter. Our newsletter will be electronic only and distributed via email on a quarterly basis. Each issue will have a feature article relating to safety, a profile of a CLSO and a CMLSO, welcome to new certificants and other industry related news. Of particular interest in this issue are the ANSI Z136.1 changes and our contest to name this e-Newsletter! (The winner will receive a $25 VISA gift card.) So, enjoy this first issue of the e-Newsletter and please do not hesitate to contact me to let me know your thoughts and comments. Safety Training Kind of Like Pulling Teeth Let's face it; going to safety training is like listening to your mother when you were a little kid. "Don't touch the burner, it's hot." "You ate what? Now you can't go swimming for another hour." "Don't cross your eyes, they will be like that the rest of your life."... New Laser Safety Forum The BLS has created a Laser Safety Forum! As a CLSO or CMLSO individuals will be looking for your advice on laser safety. Please click on this link and sign-up! BLS will officially launch the Laser Safety Forum in a couple of weeks to the membership of the LIA and anybody else who wants to post a question regarding laser safety.
